Worst Cars in Accidents

Serving West Virginia and Ohio, including Parkersburg, Charleston, Morgantown, Huntington, Wheeling, Belpre, and Athens

In our technologically advanced society, it is a common misconception that all modern vehicles are manufactured with the highest standards of safety. This should be the case, but sloppy production and poor design lead to thousands of avoidable injuries every year. Experienced West Virginia lawyers Jan Dils and Jim Leach are here to help when you are injured in a car accident, but avoiding purchasing unsafe vehicles can help reduce your chance of serious injuries.

Least Safe Cars in America

Every year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety analyzes information from car accidents to determine which cars perform poorly. Below is a list of the cars that received a “poor” ranking in 2009/2010:

  • Mini-cars – 2009 Chevrolet Aveo, 2009 Hyundai Accent, 2009 Kia Rio
  • Small cars – 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser, 2009 Volkswagen Beetle
  • Luxury cars – 2010 Cadillac STS, 2010 Infiniti M35/M45
  • Small SUVs – 2010 Ford Escape hybrid, 2009 Hyundai Tucson, 2010 Jeep Wrangler, 2009 Mazda Tribute hybrid, 2009 Mercury Mariner hybrid and Mazda Tribute hybrid
  • Large SUVs - 2009 Hummer H3, 2009 Kia Sorento
  • Minivans - 2009 Nissan Quest, 2010 Toyota Sienna

These vehicles were found to have inadequate safety features, be more prone to rollover, and result in the highest instances of serious or fatal injuries.
